Here in the US, we tend to think of vending machines as being very singularly purposed. You go to one for either food or drink. And that’s it.
Even then, you’re only dealing with a very specific subset of food and drink. Only snacks, and only sodas, although there is always the distinct possibility of bottled water in there as well.
But what may surprise you is that there are more kinds of vending machines coming out and becoming available. We’re not talking something obscure and scandalous and Japanese here, either. The truth is that the model of sales that vending machines represents is catching on here in the US as well as overseas.
What’s even more amazing is the variety of products that this is being applied to.
For instance, did you know that you can find vending machines that sell pizza to you? Yes, they do. They’ll churn it out, piping hot, ready to eat and everything. Or, if electronics are more your thing, it is entirely possible to find vending machines that will take care of that too. We’re talking iPods, cellphones, and chargers for mobile technology as well.
Of course, if you’ve been to the airport, you’ve seen the vending machines for flowers too.
And in can get just downright weird with some of these machines. You can find them selling hotdogs, or bacon, or eggs. You set these things up next to each other and put in a dollar, and you get breakfast.
