An Early Dose of Holiday Cheer

Holidays are the worst. Not because of the days, and not because of what they celebrate, but because everything shuts down and you can get nothing done.

Let me give you an example – I used to work for NC State. I was a community assistant. That means that it was my job to hand out keys and notify people about packages and things like that. That was my job. I was that guy.

When I first started out, I was working my way out of credit card debt. That meant that I was working as many shifts as I could while not being picky about the whole thing. That meant working a lot of night-time shifts. And one of the few things that got me through working all night and going to class a few hours later was a bottle of Vault every night.

This came from a vending machine.

I needed vending machines.

Of course, when the holidays rolled around, the guy stopped coming and everybody came and took my Vault away so that they could study for the exams all night.

Sad times. Sad times. Would have been nice if I had a vending machine instead of taking my chances with the stores, which may or may not have even been open.
